Louisiana Accessible Educational Materials
Louisiana Accessible Educational Materials (LA-AEM) is Louisiana’s state agency for learning resource material, making it feasible for children with variable abilities to learn and participate in a school setting. LA-AEM serves children K-12 through public, private, and charter schools.
The Solution
LA-AEM needed an inclusive, modern website that serves as a clear, central resource for K–12 educators and families statewide. Priorities included intuitive navigation for different user roles (from administrators and AT staff to parents), accessible page structures, and simple ways to discover training, guidance on AEM eligibility, and braille-program information.
Firefly organized content around audience needs and built a responsive WordPress CMS so LA-AEM can easily manage pages, forums, and resources. We integrated role-friendly forms and community/forum tools, added components for announcements and training opportunities, and applied LDOE brand guidance for a clean, welcoming look.
