Google recently announced they are expanding their Google Shopping access to WooCommerce users. Google will now give WooCommerce stores access to upload their listings directly to Google Shopping for free. This extension will allow these online stores to create shopping ads without leaving the WooCommerce dashboard.
What does this mean for businesses?
Thanks to COVID-19, online shopping has grown substantially. Google Shopping has grown into a major shopping channel. In fact, over one billion shopping sessions happen across Google every day.
That is a level of visibility online merchants cannot ignore. Having products shown on Google gives these shops access to larger audiences and markets.
Before this integration, merchants using WooCommerce would have to try to rank for their products organically or use a paid extension to sync product info with Google. Now they can upload their product listing directly to the Google Shopping tab.
Additionally, merchants will have access to Google Smart Shopping campaigns that will help to boost sales using Google’s machine learning capabilities. Products will be able to be shown across Google outlets such as Google Search, Shopping, Youtube, Gmail, and the Display network. This expansive reach will lead to more sales opportunities for e-commerce stores.
Another benefit of this partnership is these businesses don’t have to go back and forth between multiple interfaces. They can stay right within the WooCommerce dashboard. Making workflows more efficient and direct.
